About me…
I believe one of the reasons we’re here on this planet is to go places and experience things—and sharing those experiences is an important part of that equation. (For more on that topic click here.)
About the blog…
“We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?”
—The 11th Doctor, Doctor Who, Season 5, Episode 13, “The Big Bang”
I love stories, whatever the length or medium might be. Haiku or novel, full length motion picture or vine, a dance or a painting—each one can tell a story with depth and breadth enough to take your breath away.
Everywhere you go and every minute of your life is a story. Those stories might play out as epic, action-filled, heart pounding dramas but usually, they play out in the quiet moments that slip by largely without notice.
I like finding stories by surprise and I’ve found them in some unlikely places, such as during a jog or while standing in line at a tourist destination.
Stories are everywhere.
This blog is a collection of stories from my life. Topics can include anything from west coast swing dancing to geocaching and from traveling around town to traveling around the world. Just about anything is fair game. I look forward to sharing my stories and I invite you to do the same.
[The blog is now basically an archive. However, I’m still proud of what I’ve written there. You can think of it as a time-capsule or a walk down memory lane like when Chevy Chase in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation got locked in his attic and started watching home movies.]
About the book…
Never in my wildest imaginings did I ever think I’d be an Army wife, let alone an Army wife living in a foreign country. My travel memoir, Where the Heck is Ausfahrt? Five years of fests, foibles, and adventures as an Army wife in Germany, is a work-in-progress chronicling my experiences living and traveling overseas between 2000 and 2005. Great About, Holly! And thanks so much for the follow. I look forward to getting to know you!
